Julie Adams

Julie Adams

A former competitive runner of 15 years and collegiate rower from back east, Julie turned to cycling after moving out west and briefly dabbling in triathlons. She was introduced to the many disciplines of bike racing (road, track and CX -- all of which she now races) back in early 2003 and was completely addicted from that point on. Julie's found that she's most comfortable in flat, fast road races and technical criteriums and looks forward to doing more NRC races this season. Off the bike, Julie's an 'efficiency expert' for a recently public biotech company, Genomic Health, Inc.

Jamie Crawford

Jamie Crawford

Jamie attended UC Santa Cruz where she studied Land Use and Planning, and began riding for fun and fitness. She entered her first road race as a Cat 4 in 1999 and has been racing since. She enjoys training in the local mountains, and loves participating in the local group rides. She works full time as a residential real estate appraiser.

Tracey Ford

Tracey Ford

Tracey began racing in 2004 and achieved enough podium points to upgrade to a Cat 2 by mid-2005. Tracey has a strong sprint and excels in criteriums and circuit races. When not on the bike training, Tracey can be found at eBay where she works in IR. She loves to travel and has spent time in India, Morocco, Israel, Turkey, China and Spain, among many other locations.

Eryn Hanna

Eryn Hanna

Eryn started stomping on the pedals while attending physical therapy school in the Netherlands. Initially she raced triathlons in 1996, but her move to Helena, MT introduced her to bike racing in 1999. She started racing in this region in 2001. She is known for breaking away and winning races, her most memorable was winning Nevada City in 2003. Her time off the bike is busy being a body mechanic at Diablo West Physical Therapy.

Amy Mackey

Amy Mackey

Amy graduated from UC Davis in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering. She is currently employed by Lockheed Martin in Missile Defense Systems. A talented athlete, Amy has 10 years of competitive swimming experience, including 3 years on the UCD women's varsity team, where she won a conference championship title. Amy also rowed competitively for 2 years, winning a National Championship title in 2002. After falling in love with the sport of cycling and joining the UCD Cycling Team, she managed to secure a 9th place overall finish at the Collegiate National Cycling Championships in 2005 (her first year on the bike).

Stacy Marple

Stacy has been athletic since she took up what her parents referred to as "floor swimming" in their NYC apartment at 5 months old. As a young girl she competed locally as a gymnast and at 16 she took up springboard and platform diving, for which she was recruited to Columbia University. After graduating she swore she would never compete in a sport again. Ten years later the gift of a road bike and a chance meeting with the UC Berkeley triathlon team changed all that. A surprisingly successful novice season in 2004 saw her placing 7th at Wildflower and winning her age group in her first Half Ironman. 2006 marks her first season as a cyclist, where she plans to prove you CAN teach a triathlete to sprint. When she is not on her bike you can find her at an elementary school playground or in the library, pursuing her PhD dissertation in Education.

Brooke Miller

Brooke Miller

Brooke is a new addition to the PABW Powered by TIBCO elite team this year. She has spent the last three years racing for UC Santa Cruz, where she is a graduate student working on her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and studying the mating behavior of banana slugs (the school's mascot). She played volleyball as an undergraduate at Berkeley and upon graduation began looking for a new sport to keep her active. She discovered cycling in 2001 when she and her husband did the California AIDS ride on old mountain bikes. After that, she bought a road bike and began competing in collegiate cycling. In 2005 she ended up winning the National Collegiate Road Championship and was invited to and attended the USA Cycling Women's Talent ID Camp at the OTC in Colorado Springs. In 2006 she has changed her focus to NRC racing with PABW Powered by TIBCO. She is most successful in a bunch sprint but describes herself as "a climber, trapped in a sprinter's body."

Flavia Oliveira

Flavia has been a competitive athlete since early childhood, excelling in swimming, gymnastics, soccer, and distance running. It wasn't until after college that she purchased her first road bike, intending to compete in triathlons. On the way to podium finishes in Wildflower, Pacific Grove, and Treasure Island triathlons, however, Flavia became smitten with cycling and decided to focus on road racing. Since her first Early Bird race in January 2006, Flavia has quickly progressed through the ranks, winning most Cat 3 and 4 races that she entered and challenging seasoned racers in the Cat 1/2 races. Her source of inspiration is her brother, who triumphed over an early physical disability to become an Olympic-caliber swimmer. You could say that determination and talent run in the Oliveira family!

Jenni Tafoya

Jenni Tafoya

Jenni was introduced to bike racing through collegiate cycling at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the 90's. After taking five years off the bike, decided to give it a go again and can often be seen on the local group training rides around the San Francisco peninsula. She works as an account director and analyst for market research firm comScore Networks. When not working or cycling, Jenni enjoys doing home improvement projects with her husband Patrick, a master's racer (okay her part is mostly making the honey-do list), and spending time with dog Otto, who has become quite well known on the NorCal racing circuit!
